Answers to your IT questions

Managed services is an IT service delivery model where an external provider, in this case Symsafe Pty Ltd, manages and delivers IT services to a customer, typically under a service level agreement (SLA). The provider assumes responsibility for the customer's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network operations.

MSPs include a wide range of IT services, including network monitoring and management, server management, cloud services, security management, data backup and recovery, cybersecurity and help desk support.

Some of the benefits of using Symsafe as your managed service provider partner include:

  • Access to a team of experienced experts who can manage and maintain your IT infrastructure
  • Reduced downtime and improved system performance
  • Enhanced security and compliance with regulations
  • Cost savings compared to hiring an in-house IT team
  • Scalability to meet your changing business needs
  • Training of your team and assessment of your platforms and tools to ensure you have the very best infrastructure setup

There are several benefits to using Symsafe as your trusted IT partner, even if you already have an internal IT person. Here are some reasons why:

  1. Expertise: Our team of experts have experience in managing various IT services. We bring in-depth knowledge and skills to the table, allowing us to handle complex tasks that your internal IT person may not have experience with.
  2. Scalability: We are equipped to handle IT services for organisations of various sizes. If your business is growing rapidly or you need to scale up your IT services, we can provide the necessary support without you having to invest in additional staff and resources.
  3. Cost-effectiveness: By outsourcing your IT services to Symsafe, you can save on the cost of hiring additional staff and investing in infrastructure. We offer flexible pricing models that can help you save money.
  4. Focus on core business activities: By delegating your IT services to us, you can free up your internal IT person to focus on core business activities. This will help increase productivity and efficiency within your organisation.
  5. Reduced downtime: We have robust backup and disaster recovery systems in place, which can help minimise downtime and ensure business continuity in the event of an IT outage or security breach.

Using Symsafe will ensure that your organisation has access to the best IT services and support, as well as actively managing your business IT.

You may need a managed service provider if:

  • You lack the expertise to manage and maintain your IT infrastructure
  • You want to improve the performance and security of your systems
  • You need to comply with industry regulations or standards
  • You want to free up your internal IT team to focus on strategic initiatives
  • You need to scale your IT infrastructure quickly to support growth

Although we do also offer break/fix services, our various levels of managed IT are proactive and ongoing services that manage your business’ IT infrastructure. This can include monitoring, maintenance, security, data backup and recovery, software updates, and help desk support, as well as onsite and off-site support. Managed IT services ensure that your IT systems are always functioning optimally.

Break/fix services, on the other hand, are reactive services provided in response to a specific problem or issue that has already occurred. In this case we would charge an hourly or per-incident fee to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. This approach is more transactional and does not involve ongoing monitoring, maintenance or protection of your IT systems.

The main difference between managed IT services and break/fix services is that managed IT services are focused on preventing problems, while break/fix services are focused on fixing problems after they have occurred.

Managed IT services are typically a more cost-effective strategy, as they involve proactive maintenance and monitoring to prevent problems from arising.
